Cumbria Cricket are pleased to announce Graeme Dodds as our new Female Pathway Lead. Graeme arrives at Cumbria Cricket with a huge amount of cricket experience behind him, and has been Head of Sport in two teaching environments over the last 18 years.

Upon his appointment, Graeme said: “It’s an exciting time for female cricket and, as a county, we’re looking to lead the way with more opportunities for the next generation. Building on recent success within CAG cricket and how the female game now looks with The Hundred, our pathway fits into that model and gives every aspiring young cricketer the chance to develop.

“Whether it be socially or in a competitive environment, the support will be there across all aspects of the game. I look forward to meeting more of you over the coming months as we finalise our plans for winter training.”

Director of Cricket Development, Bob Simpson, added: “We are delighted with the appointment of Graeme as our Female Pathway Lead. Graeme has the skills and experience to ensure there is pathway for any girl or women who wants to pick up a bat and a ball and enjoy cricket.”

“His passion for female sport, and cricket in particular, will ensure players will develop to be the best they can be – whether playing in a softball festival, representing Cumbria, North West Thunder and beyond.

“Both Graeme and Cumbria Cricket Ltd’s ambition for the female game is to be the best developer and provide the best opportunities in the country. To do this we recognised the need for the role to be full time, and feel Graeme is the perfect fit for us.”
