Founded in 2005, Chance to Shine is a charitable organisation which helps to provide new skills to children and teachers in schools around the country.

In addition to Cumbria Cricket Ltd, Chance to Shine works alongside 38 other county boards across England and Wales where the aim is to give all children the opportunity to play, learn and develop through cricket.

Chance to Shine offers a free online portal (to find out more click here) that teachers are able to sign up to that provides session plans from KS1 to KS3 for not only the playground but also in the classroom too. These sessions include fundamental movement skills, the basics of cricket as well as involvement in countrywide competition

There is also the opportunity for Chance to Shine Street, which offers cricket to thousands more children in urban areas where it uses the game to increase aspiration, promoting social cohesion and creating more opportunities in diverse areas.
