Join us for Markland Hill Wealth and John Scott County Cup Finals Day

Make sure you join us on Sunday 15th September for a cracking day of cricket at our Markland Hill Wealth and John Scott Cup County Cup Finals day at Netherfield CC.

The day gets underway at 10:30am with the outstanding John Scott Cup semi-final between Hawcoat Park and Millom 2.

The winner of that match will then go on to play Netherfield 2 in the final at 1pm.

Attention then switches to the Markland Hill Wealth Senior County Cup Final at 3:30pm, which will see Keswick battle it out with Netherfield for the right to call themselves champions.

We would love to see as many people as possible down at Netherfield to soak up the action and watch some fantastic cricket.

Rules

All games are played under the Hundred rules. If scores are level after allotted bowls or team dismissed, then a Super set is played of 5 balls with 2 wickets maximum. If the match is still tied, the team with fewer wickets lost in original game is declared the winner. If it is still a tie, boundary count confirms the winners – most sixes followed by most fours. If the match is still tied the teams shall be awarded two points each from the four usually awarded for a win.

After the round robin, the team with the most points wins the County Cup. In the event of the points being equal, then the team with the better run rate wins. If a team is bowled out prior to the allotted balls, then the maximum number of bowls available shall be used in this calculation.

In the event of inclement weather, games can be reduced to a minimum of 25 balls per innings to complete the games. This decision will be made by the umpires and match managers, along with advice of ground staff.
