We have appointed two new Pitch Advisors to ensure grounds across Cumbria get the best possible care.
As part of our commitment to support the development of cricket, we are delighted to add Katie Croft and James Farmer to our team of Pitch Advisors. They will work with Jack Singleton, who has done a sterling job as our Lead Advisor for a number of years.
Adding James and Katie will increase the capacity and coverage of our team. Katie lives near in the west of Cumbria, James near Penrith, so with Jack covering Barrow & South Lakes, we will have complete coverage in Cumbria.
We will be working with the Grounds Management Association, leagues and other key partners to produce a plan to support the hard working grounds people within our 65 clubs.
Our ambition to be the most inclusive sport in Cumbria, has seen a considerable increase in women and girls picking up a bat and ball; meaning more fixtures and pressure on producing pitches and maintaining outfields. The increase in participation will continue so our ambition is to ensure every club has a pitch report and maintenance and training plan in place.
