Please note the following updates for DBS Renewal/Update Service which take effect from January 10th 2023.
As of 10th January 2023 all applicants who have signed up to the Update Service will:
- Receive an email containing an annual online request to consent to the annual check and re-confirm your details to ensure the ECB hold the most accurate information in relation to your role in cricket, the club/county/organisation you volunteer/work for and your contact details.
- You will also be able to opt out of rechecks if you are no longer involved in regulated activity in cricket.
FAQs
When does the renewal process start?
You will receive an email 30 days before you renewal date to start the recheck process. At this point you will be required to log into your online ECB DBS account.
What happens if you do not respond or do not receive the email?
If you fail to respond or complete the recheck then your DBS clearance will expire on your anniversary date, however if you are still in regulated activity and want to renew, then please email safeguarding@cumbriacricket.co.uk and we will be arrange to initiate the renewal email for you to opt back in.
Will I need to complete a new application to renew my DBS?
Not usually!
Following completion of the renewal questionnaire, any information supplied that would determine a new DBS is required is forwarded to the ECB Customer Support team. They will contact all individuals directly to clarify and initiate a new application if required.
Maintaining the DBS update service account
There is a charge of £13 annually for paid applicants to subscribe, volunteers there is no charge.
Applicants will also receive an annual email directly from the DBS. Paid applicants will need to log in and pay their annual fee of £13, volunteers do not need to take any action unless your contact details have changed, or if you wish to end your registration e.g. no longer in regulated activity. This email is only to confirm that their registration is renewed.
For your ECB clearance to continue we still need their consent and completion of the renewal questionnaire to carry out the check and update our database.
