EDI Action Plan Released

As we continue to ensure cricket is a game for all, Cumbria Cricket Ltd (CC Ltd) and Cumbria County Cricket Club (CCCC) are delighted to unveil our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan.

The Plan underlines our commitment to ensuring everyone feels that cricket is a game for them, and that there is no place for any kind of discrimination in our county.

Our Plan, which will be reviewed on a regular basis, aims to:

  • Empower our people to understand and raise the awareness of EDI issues

  • Build diverse teams for the future that reflect the communities they serve.

  • Develop an inclusive environment and actively engage with under-represented groups.

  • Lead with accountability and be committed to action not just words.

CC Ltd Director of Cricket Development Bob Simpson said:

“We, the Cumbria Cricket team and Cumbria County Cricket Club, will work in partnership to support all clubs, communities, leagues, associations and those within the wider Cumbria Cricket Family, as we continue to drive positive change and promote inclusivity in our sport. We want everyone to know they are welcome in the Cumbria Cricket Family.”

CCCC Chairman Neil Atkinson added:

“Cricket is a fantastic game which should be open to all members of our community and the EDI Action Plan is the starting point from which we look to develop our local strategies.

“A strong focus on Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity will ensure our local game continues to prosper and develop at all levels from grass roots through to senior team.

“Cumbria County Cricket Club is proud to support and play an active role in conjunction with Cumbria Cricket Ltd to deliver a robust EDI Action Plan that will promote and secure the future for all who wish to join the Cumbria Cricket Family.”
