Northern Edge Cricket Academy will be a top class facility hosting five net lanes, three bowling machines and performance analysis tools, all of which will make it a fantastic hub for everyone involved in cricket in Cumbria to develop their skills.

The opening of cricket facilities across Cumbria is always welcomed by Cumbria Cricket Ltd as we strive to ensure our game is as accessible to as many people in our region as possible.

We are looking forward to using the venue as a satellite site of both our Boys’ and Girls’ County Age Group development programmes. Our Centre of Cricket Excellent will remain at Sedbergh School. In addition to our pathway programme, Cumbria Cricket is also exploring opportunities to use the venue for coach development and wider support of the recreational game.

The venue is set to open on Friday 30th October.

Paul Hindmarch, Head Coach and Founder of Northern Edge Cricket Academy, said: “We hope the centre becomes a place for all cricketers across the region to enjoy. We look forward to welcoming cricketers of all levels, as well as clubs and families.

“We want to create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to develop, improve and enjoy the game.”

Cumbria Cricket Managing Director, Bob Simpson, added: “It’s great to see the development of the new Northern Edge Cricket Academy indoor cricket centre.

“Investment in cricket facilities is so important for the future of our game, and this is another really positive development for cricket in Cumbria.

“Congratulations to Paul on making this happen.”
