The competition format and rules for both the Markland Hill Wealth Cumbria County Cup and John Scott Cup are as follows:
Markland Hill Wealth Cumbria County Cup
Format
The competition is split into three groups with the winners of each group proceeding to a Finals Day.
Each group and Finals Day will consist of three games, with each team playing each other once. The winners will be the team with the most points.
There are five points for a win and three for a tie (after a Super Over). In the event of two teams being on equal points after all three games, the winner will be decided on runs scored divided by wickets lost – the team with the higher score wins.
Rules
This is a Hundred competition. The full rules of this can be found on The Hundred website.
If scores are level after 100 balls, then a Super Over shall be played. If the scores are still level after the Super Over, the team with the most boundaries will be declared the winners. If the boundary count is tied, then the winner will be the team with the most sixes. If the score is still tied at this point, each team shall be awarded three points.
For rain-affected games – If the game hasn’t started agree number of balls per innings. If the game has started, move to a Super Over.
Clubs must provide umpires for the early rounds. Cumbria Cricket will provide umpires for the Finals Day.
All games must be filled in on Play Cricket in full and all players must be registered prior to start of play.
John Scott Cup
Format

Groups 1-3 will consist of three games, with each team playing each other once. The winners will be the team with the most points.

If the boundary count is tied, then the winner will be the team with the most sixes. If the score is still tied at this point, the winner will be decided on runs scored divided by wickets lost – the team with the higher score wins.
For the play-off games for Groups 4 and 5, the venue will be drawn at random and teams will play two play-off games.
