Women’s Tier 3 debut season a success

Women’s Tier 3 debut season a success

Our senior women’s team had an excellent introductory campaign to Tier 3 cricket.

We are really proud at the progress all the players have made, and they have now developed their own style of cricket which has attracted interest and praise from both inside and outside of Cumbria.

From not having a team in November 2024, the group is now competing very well in women’s Tier 3 cricket against established teams – the future is very bright.

Extra praise must be given to captain Sarah Miller, who is a fantastic leader for the group and has built a great camaraderie.

The summer record stands at played 15, won eight, a brilliant win ratio especially considering where the team has come from.

The Vitality T20 Blast competition proved to be the most successful for the team, with six wins over Herefordshire, Norfolk, Lincolnshire and Northumberland.

We also had two strong wins in our Metro Bank 50 Over competition against Norfolk and Herefordshire.

Strong Support

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Barrow CC, Penrith CC, Sedgwick CC and Kendal CC for hosting matches throughout the campaign, and thanks to Kendal CC for hosting our weekly training sessions this summer.

A huge thank you must also go out to our sponsors 3-1-5 Gym Lancaster, PCA Associates, Sweat Studio, and Surridge Cricket. Their support goes a long way to ensuring all our players are given the best opportunity to thrive.

We have an exciting winter programme planned, with three sessions booked in before Christmas followed by 10 weekly sessions in 2026.
